LIVE EVENT: An evening on the estuary

Join us for a livestreamed evening paddle around the mouth of the Glenelg River in south-west Victoria and find out why the area where the river meets the sea is one very special place.

Hosted by the Glenelg Hopkins CMA, senior estuary officer Jarred Obst will be giving us an insight into why estuaries are so important, why the animals and plants who inhabit the area need that mix of fresh and sea water, how challenging it can be to balance the delicate needs of the environment, with very real the socio-economic needs of the communities and residents on and around the waterway, and just how difficult it can be if nature doesn’t agree!
