Work in partnership
Traditional Owner groups
How we work together
The CMA has been working with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal organisations for the past fifteen years. Our partnerships have helped achieved regional NRM priorities and fulfill broader aspirations that Traditional Owners and Aboriginal communities have for managing their land and sea country. By incorporating Aboriginal knowledge, cultural values and perspectives into natural resource management, we will continue working towards a more sustainable and resilient future for the health of people and Country.

Are you a group working with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal organisations?
The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning has developed the following Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Guide to assist groups working with Traditional Owners that may not be familiar with cultural heritage.
The guide is intended to assist community groups delivering on-ground projects and activities in Victoria to better understand the State’s Aboriginal cultural heritage management process.
It is acknowledged some group may be unfamiliar with Aboriginal Cultural Heritage requirements.
