Glenelg River environmental water delivery

There’s a fresh on the way for the Glenelg River.

It is part of our usual delivery of environmental water, but also ensures the river is at its best for the communities for the March Long Weekend when its a popular attraction for visitors

Starting from February 11, river users may notice a change in water levels in the Glenelg resulting from the release of 1,845ML of environmental water from Rocklands Reservoir.

This release will occur over 16 days, with the fresh peaking at 170ML /day.

This release will finish on February 26, at which time water river levels and releases will drop back to Summer baseflow levels.

You can expect to see water levels changing at different times as the water travels downstream.

Below are approximate indications of when water will arrive in towns along the river:

Balmoral: February 13

Harrow: February 20

Dergholm: February 24

Casterton: February 28
