PUBLIC INFORMATION EVENT: Ramsar management plan

For the first time since its Ramsar listing in 2018 and the inaugural 7-year plan, the Glenelg Estuary Discovery Bay Ramsar Site management plan is being updated.

Public comment is now being sought on it.

To assist the local community in what the existing and new plan will include, a public information event is being held in Nelson on Friday July 4.

This event will be in relation to the plan and the management of the site only. Public submissions on the plan are being recently online.

If you’ve been to the GEDB area and thought maybe the management of the site should be looking at something specific, take a look at the updated plan to see if its included, and make comment on it.

The public comment period runs from June 19 through to July 18, 2025.
