WORKSHOP: re-fencing and land classing
With significant re-fencing needing to occur in the eastern areas of the catchment, it might be an opportunity to look at where and how those fences are put on properties to benefit layout and production.
This free workshop in Streatham on February 4 will include a BBQ dinner and an opportunity to have discussions around where new fences might go, and talk to other farmers.
Understanding fencing for land class also allows for better management of different land types on your
farm and can result in better pastures and crops, improved productivity and the protection of soils, wetlands and remnant vegetation.
Topics covered as part of the workshop will include:
- Whole farm planning
- Land classing
- Mapping
