10 years later: Riparian revegetation success

Ever wondered if it’s worth it?

If all the planting of tree and grasses, getting rid of the weeds and fencing off waterways makes an actual difference?

Presenting the intervention area at Cavendish in southwest Victoria the team at the CMA and Arthur Rylah Institute have been monitoring for 10 years.

A CMA project site back in 2016, the team at ARI have been popping back to check on it, and a control site nearby that wasn’t revegetated as part of the Riparian Intervention Monitoring Program – a long term study into the impact revegetation and weed control works, and fencing stock off waterways, has on those riparian areas.

The marked difference should inspire everyone to plant the tree, the grasses and fence off that waterway.
