The VVP grasslands are flowering

The grasslands of the Victorian Volcanic Plains are bursting with colour!

Arguably as beautiful, but much less well known, the grasslands of Victorian Volcanic Plains region put on some of the spectacular displays of native wildflowers in Australia … and most of them are just on the roadsides!

The VVP team have been out assessing the grassland flowers as part of understanding whether burning the areas (something the plants need to regenerate) earlier in the season could be a way of balancing the needs of the grasslands with the capacity of the local CFA with less volunteers available.
